I'm a Canadian but I did require permanent residence before they hired me. No, they don't sponsor work permits. The FAA ATPL is no sweat as long as you have the requesite 500 command or 1000 FO in a multi crew aircraft, then it's just the Air Law written and the ride, which your potential employer will do when they hire you (Exactly how I did it).

They used to stick to younger guy's, but I was 35 last year when they hired me, about average for the last two intakes of 8 and 10 pilots respectively. The intake before that they hired a guy in his fifties. Basically, they do NOT and will NOT discriminate by age.

All that said, they tell us 2009 before they hire again. Great bunch of people to work with though. Hiring process is great, all done by line pilots, and the training is excellent.
