Well, any reporter who first looks at Wikipedia for a primary source then APC as a confirmation would have just done more due diligence than CNN-Fox-MSNBC-et al. combined.

And that's just scary in and of itself!

I know , i didn't directly look at wikipedia and i wasn't looking there for information beyond what was the function of ADIRU. I just came across that link and the information there pretty much portraited AF's scenario.
And since this was a point of view that nobody seem to have noticed yet, i decided to share it hoping that
it could be discussed and/or debunked by more experienced people like the ones using this forum.

Thanks Again!

I hadn't seen the specifics regarding the EAD that was issued as a result of the QF incident.

Thanks for the info, Mr. Reporter.

I've always heard they're worse in the US due to the warm/cold air combo. But, I'm not an atmospheric scienties either.

Drudge Reports bomb threats within the last week in South America against air France, but from Buenos Aires, Argentina, not Brazil...for what it's worth. Sam

In an interesting coincidence, someone on PPRuNe mentioned the same thing, almost word for word, but then shortly thereafter, their post disappeared.

Welcome to APC Sam.

Makes one think.... did the nutjobs pull off an attack? Shoe bomber style, 4oz of liquids, luggage etc?

I hope that FDR is recoverable, it may take an extraordinary effort - but we need the answers for our own security.

not to be callus, but wx doesn't cause mishaps, i have taught aviation wx for the past 5 years and have just recently been through the navy aviation safety officer course. that site and all its data is nice to see, but if icing, or turbulence or TS's in general resulted in that plane impacting the sea, its not the weather's fault.....weather phenomenon can result in aircraft exceeding design limits, but that's not the weather's fault....

again, i have no idea what caused this tragedy, nor do i wish to speculate, let us all wait until the CVR and CDR are recovered until we begin to speculate....
