Yes interviews have started, they have recalled almost all pilots from the "old" Olympic Airlines. Psychometric testing and then personal interview with General Chief Pilot and Head of Flight Operations.

MARFIN which bought the company has hired almost all the management of Aegean Airlines to help build the new Olympic Air. Plus a lot of Cabin Crew, Ground Staff and of course Flight Crew have sent resumes and or have been hired.

We are waiting to hear what the new contract will be for Flight Crew, last numbers heard were starting: 3500 Euros First Officer/mo, 5500 Euros Captain/mo

Hi Olympic,

Do you know if they are going to call for interview pilots not coming from the old Olympic?
Have they finished their selections and any info on their plans (short haul only etc.)

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't heard any pilots from Aegean Airlines or any other companies getting called or interviewed. Im talking about normal Flight Crew. Selection hasn't finished yet, the company plans to bring Q400s and A320s for now.

None knows what will happen with the LONG HAUL aircraft and routes, from what I have been hearing they will lease the slots to other companies.

olympic and greece, what do you think?

let me see if I got this correct, they rehired all furloughed olympic pilots, they are to switch to Q400 and A320, park all else and lease out the slots used by the A340. All this when Agean became or is becoming a Star Alliance member.

the new owners are going to back out by september.

There are no furloughed pilots here in Greece. A lot of Olympic pilots are to be re-hired. A lot of Aegean pilots will be going to the new "Olympic" aswell.

You have to understand that Olympic has a much bigger name than Aegean, they will bring a lot of competition to Aegean and in general to Greece. This is only good for the work force, who will see their pay go up plus working conditions and QOL.
