We said Dom. I would have been a lot harsher, and less eloquent.

Thanks for keeping us up to date, Dominican. Your posts have always been informative. Even with everything you have said, I am still very excited to start class in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know what the dress code is for training? Also do you guys wear white gloves on the line?

Just a white shirt (pilot shirt even if you like), tie (not red, that is the opposite team) and a pair of dark color trousers will work just fine, most likely the instructors will tell you to lose the tie during the summer because of the power conservation efforts in Japan they are turning down the A/C in the building so be prepared to be HOT!!!!! The gloves are by choice and it doesn't really matter if you wear them or not, some guys do.

It is not a bad gig really with all things considered, the integration has been handled poorly but I think that once the dust settles it will be alright (I am pathetically glass half full, sorry). Sent you a PM with my phone number in Japan in case you need anything, good luck.

Funny part about the power conservation thing...they turn off the AC, but leave the damn toilet seat heaters on all summer....Japanese way of thinking I guess! Listen to Dom...he will steer you right! ( and might even buy you a beer or two!)

PS....be prepared for the most bizarre training event you will ever experience.

It is like eating a hamburger with chop sticks, it will take some figuring out but it is doable

You should not complain so much Dominican, I guess you should stay in a country. ( I am a good devil h pilot ). I have spoken with my capt b, and he said that what might bother D is a fact that the wages are lower while being a contractor, and we have spoken about one other situation. There is another point to be considered,Japan is after the earthquake so the wages are being cut werent you trying to stay?. You mustn't worry only try to avoid the comments about the Japanese customs if you can especially after earthquake the world had made it own commercial about Japan already. You should stay. Actually flying job is all over the world the same isnt't it? Just shortly someone is r of coming to Asia. Do you also fly passengers planes or just a cargo? Listening to your information, suggest that you should stay. Are the wages higher then the ones in US at current? What is reality ? No ,I never considered flying at the companies you are at , even having a license I just like one place only to fly at.
