ANA JP Express or Air Japan??

For those of you on the AJX side... what is the preference for
accomodations while in Tokyo?
Are pilots mostly crashpadding or staying in hotels?
What is the typical cost of either option?
Thanks.

I take AJV and AJX is no longer interviewing. Could I be wrong????
Just curious.. Have some friends who are waiting on getting on interview. Sounds like with the JAL contract guys and this strike there is probably not a chance.

Good Lord.. Lots of questions.. Let me try to get 'em all..!
I am with AJV so I can only speak to that side of the house..
We are still hiring. Planning 24 pilots for this year. We have Captains in the May class. After that not sure if Capts will still be hired.
The hotel you stay at in training has free LAN internet. I will not put the name on here, so if you need it, PM me.
Commuting is the same for everyone, regardless of where you are from. Two options are available: You can have a business (First Domestic) class ticket booked to and from NRT to any two cities in the world every month, OR you can take $2000. Talk to 5 guys and you will hear 6 different plans for their commute. Some buy economy tickets and use miles to upgrade, some use ID 90s, some use the Biz Class ticket etc.. If you use the company ticket, the office staff books the the flights for you. You can choose the flights and you get all of the airline miles.
Pilots with AJX and AJV choose different options while in NRT.. Some have apartments, and many stay in one of two hotels.. For AJV, the office staff makes all of the hotel arrangements while here in NRT whether you are off or on duty.
Hope it helps, and I HOPE we continue to enjoy success in this economy!
