Commercial Multi and Single add-on same day?
For those who know me I came back from Iraq in October with a my pvt single engine and around 110 hours or so with the goal of finishing through CFI,II,MEI before April 1st (the day my contract ends and I move back to Mass.)
Fast forward. I now have 242 hours and I have my commercial multi (initial) checkride scheduled for the 27th (next tues). Because of lack of dates I am now going to do both in the same day to get them out of the way. I will be doing my CMEL in the morning, break for lunch, and then start all over again for my CSEL addon in the afternoon.
I have not had problems on any of my 3 rides before and I dont see this would be a huge problem but I just wanted to get some of your advice...am I setting myself up for failure or is this something that is obtainable with hard work and a little luck?

I'm assuming you are doing both with the same DPE, and are doing a single oral with him...if not things might get tougher.
Good Luck

It will be with the same DPE and to be legal it is technically two separate entities (sp?)
We will go over all of the logs he will look over the 8710, do the full blown oral and than the flight in the twin and land and give him another 8710 and go over the aircraft books. From what I have heard though from those who have gone before me is that the second checkride (providing I nail the first one) will be a piece of cake. All I need to go over in the oral are single engine aerodynamics and systems of my 152 (what systems) for the flight it is basically the chandelle, steep spiral, power off 180, 8s on pylon, lazy 8 and short, soft t/o and landing. I would imagine the SE addon will take 2 hours total but what do I know...I guess it is wishful thinking.
I havent even taken the written yet, cramming as we speak and will be taking it this friday. My multi knowledge is great since it is primarily what I fly and still fresh in my mind from my Private and Instrument ratings so I will make sure I am solid on my regs etc.
I have done 1/2 of it from the right seat in preparation for my MEI checkride which will hopefully be around two weeks later
Thanks rick for your info and vote of confidence

UPDATE:
The school ended up splitting up my rides to accomodate the DPE so I took and passed the CMEL on the 27th and the next morning took and passed my CSEL. Both rides were a good time and not a big deal at all. I am scheduling my MEI as my initial with the fsdo for around the 22nd and I have my CFI and CFII scheduled for the 28th.....should be a fun month!
CMEL BE-76 3 hour oral 1.7 flight
CSEL C-152 1 hour oral 1.3 flight

Thanks tadpole, I appreciate it!
Have a few MEI flights (as my initial) under my belt. Right seat is no big deal just need to make sure I work on instruction mentality.
For those who havent done an instructor rating yet...WHOA...do NOT underestimate the amount of work that needs to be put into it. It seems equivalent to all of my 5 other ratings combined in bookwork and study.

...you over-achiever, you...
Congrats Brotha. Keep up the good work. Let us know if you have any questions...I'm pretty familiar with the 'ol Duchess...as well as many others here. Also, if you need help with the teaching aspect, there are PLENTY of us here for that as well.
Again, good work!
