I'm leaning towards that direction Deftone.
NovemberBravo - I'm going to be spending an extra year at the University just to get to CFI, so the whole 1000 vs 1500 hours really kind of cancels out. That was my main concern when I started considering this option.

Also it should not take you a year to get a CFI.

Cant agree more. Flight instructing for almost everyone is an awful experience. You will learn but you will reach a point where you physically cannot do 1 more dual hour without killing yourself. Large flight schools dont give you a good QOL but its the only route to go today for hours. Id do your Instrument and Commercial initial then bounce for the cheaper school.
