Audio Study Guide for Private
Long time lurker...and before posting my question, I'll answer yours: yes I used the search function. Didn't get much worthwhile and it was a few years old.
Has anyone used any sort of audio study guide for their PPL? I see there's a Gleim one that's downloadable. As my username suggests, I sit in a cubicle all day where I do almost nothing, so I could put a lot of time into listening, whereas open books are a little more obvious.
I'm not an especially auditory learner, BUT if I listened to it all day long I could probably repeat it like rain man eventually.
Just trying to get a feel if it's any good and worth the $60 or so.
'preciate the help and (I think) I'm glad to be here! Thanks!

Haha...thanks. I've been away from flying for awhile so I'm not used to having the vacuum cleaner attached to my wallet anymore.
I'm guessing you've used these?
-Thanks again

I used cassette tapes from a company called Flight-Tech. I think that they were out of Colorado, and a brief search on the internet seems to indicate that they are no longer in business, but if you can find a used set of their PPL written test tapes, I would highly recommend them.
They are pretty cheesy, but they are remarkably effective at drilling info into your head. Very good product.
Good luck.

Thanks guys! Gleim will let you download a sample from their website if anyone else is interested.
Not my ideal learning method but I think it'll be a great backup to what I'm already doing.

To the OP's question have you looked at Rod Machado?

I see Rod has one going for $99. Couldn't find the King's...their website is umm...busy. I have lots of respect for both, but I could do w/o the corniness.
I have however procured the Gleim one. Very dry, but good for beating things into your head. This is just a supplement for while I'm wasting away in the office.
Thanks

King does not have an audio study guide to my knowledge. I was referring to the poster who said he failed his Instrument knowledge test three times. Without a doubt there is no better material on the market that is as good as King Schools. They may tell corny jokes and repeat things five times but let me tell you something you will never forget the answer to one of the questions the King's have explained even if you only answered it once.
