i used AF in the past and had no problem. the most recent renewal was a problem. apparently their ACR (wheter he/she is new to the certification process, or not) is kinda
niave to the airman certification process. their latest mess-up in using their service in my re-certification was in depending on their ACR, and he/she screwed the pooch. due to that incompetence, i was forced to do a reinstantment ride with a DPE.

Document submission is a potential problem with any online service. If there's any way to visit a FSDO with the paperwork, then that's the way to go.
American Flyers' content is pretty dry, but you can't beat the price. I've used it three times now. The FAA is a thirty minute drive from my house, so it's just a matter of printing out the graduation certificate and making an appointment.
