I went down to KFLL on a free flight on gulfstream international. Bobby Pinto is the pilot recruiter there. To make it short Its cool if you have the money to blow and the time. Of course it doesn't promise you a job. So yesterday a man name Richard Gabor of Eagle jet international called me and we spoke. To make this short it seems to be just like GTA but with coolier planes ( lears, falcons & etc.) But what is the difference between the two and is it worth the money to spend to attend one of these academies? And Rick said if they like ya and do good in training, he will hire you
If U are considering this deal, Chances are that you are Low time Pilot maybe in the range of 300 hrs to 400 hrs TT or so...
And I won’t put U down for bring this topic or even give U a long moral lecture.........
I know what U are going through at this stage, when nothing is working, nothing is happening & frustration is building…… Personally Been through it many times & getting ready to go through it again…..
But U are a PILOT, so U need to think rationally & analyze the situation…..
I don't know which program U are considering at Eagle Jet, Is it Lear Jet or Beach 1900. Either way, each one of these programs is in the range of $25k to $35k.
By Spending $25 to $30 thousand dollars, a person gets 500 hrs First Officer or SIC Time, Question is what good are those 500 hrs, coz they are not PIC hours.
They don't take U to ATP if U are only 300 - 400 TT, they don't get U a command on anything.....
Don't get lured by the LearJet name, it is worthless without a PIC....
One use...... Ornamental Value…. U flew a Lear……
U will have the hours in your log book as SIC time……
Now, Only one deal at Eagle JET, that looks maybe a little Lucrative is the 500 hrs as a First Officer on a Boeing 737. But that makes sense onlyfor someone who is at 1000 - 1100 hrs TT, so when he gets 500 hrs on a B737 & he gets to an ATPL.
Also, This makes sense for a person who is not authorized to work in USA or EU & he has no choice but to move to ASIA or Middle East, where he can then get hired by Chinese or ASIAN airlines.......
But that decent deal is expensive, it costs almost $30 thousand dollars Plus a 737 type rating, U are looking close to $50k plus living & travel expense for 6-8 months….
- If U have 600-800 TT, & can work in USA, the Save that money....some regional will pick U sooner or later....
- If U are at 300 TT, get A CFI, Just do CFI for 6-12 months,
- Buy the 100 hrs on a Multi, if U have to, But practise real Multi flying with a good instructor, not just fun flying……
- When U are at 500 TT, try the Mtn Air cargo, or even peidmont, I've read here in the forums that peidmont has been calling people way below published mins.
- Try Airnet, they have no minimum required time & U may be lucky..
Trust me, a year or 2 later, U will be glad ......
