Let us know what system or method you liked the most. Or, one that you tried and did not like... and why.

I would prefer a roadshow, but never have time so I do it online, on the road.

I've always used aopa, even though AF offers lifetime repeats. AOPA processes the renewal paperwork, and I'm not sure I trust AF to do that.

Last time I renewed, I was a stage pilot at a 141 school and only had to fill out the 8710 and walk into the FSDO and it was renewed. That was nice.... I still have a year before I renew again, I'm thinking I'll probably do AF for the lifetime renewals.

AF online, just finish the course, print off the cert, fill out an 8710 and head over to your local friendly FSDO. You can pay an extra amount to have them do the work, but honestly you might as well do it yourself for the effort.

I just finished by using AOPA online and it was great.

Have it the easiest. Fill out an 8710. Mail to FSDO. Wait for temp. Cut old cert in half. Mail to FSDO. Grand total: Two 1st Class Stamps.

It use to be driving to the FSDO and having an air carrier inspector renew my CFI. Then one year they said they would no longer do the CFI renewal based on my association with personnel in the office.
