  • main feeder of UPSCO
  • challenging flying conditions...etc
Do some of you still view it as Pay to Play or take a different view due to the nature of its operation?

Sounds like buying a job to me. Any revenue flying should be done by paid (not paying) pilots.

If you guys can recall Coex was like that as well before they became expressjet
Comair was like that as well. You would get the job then get a bill as well.

I see what you and Slice are saying. I just thought that it would be viewed differently since it was a cargo operation.

Think of any PFT/PFJ this way... if someone wasn't paying for that seat, it could go to a higher time CFI, which would make room for a lower time CFI to get an instructing job, and so on. There is no excuse, EVER for PFT/PFJ!

Payload is payload.

Any operator/owner who moves an aircraft does so by using the pilot's airman's certificate. A pilot with a valid certificate has value and should be compensated anytime an aircraft moves in a commercial operation, it's part of the cost of doing business.
