Default Three is a good number

Comment by an old 727 Captain: "I'd flown Douglas airplanes for years, and really didn't want to train on the 727. Well, in ground school they told us about this little yellow light on the glareshield; to make sure you know that you've lost an engine. I realized right then that I was gonna like this airplane!"

I think by the time the flaps are up you're so far passed Vmca it doesn't matter which way you go. For the ATP upgrade on my Three type, I did steep turns and a stall with an engine feathered.

Doing ferrys I'd rather have #3 strapped for the hydraulics.
