Accelerated Flight Schools & Part 91
Question for the experienced aviators here.
What's the consensus opinion of the "accelerated"
get-your-PPL, get-you-IFR, get-your-multi, get-your-
commercial, blah, blah, blah - flight schools that
we all see advertising on the web and in the aviation
magazines?
Are they really a "fast track" to accomplishing
the specific goal ? (for example getting your PPL,
or getting your IFR, or multi ratings) ?
On the surface it would seem to be a quick &
efficient way to acquire the ratings.
Leading to 2nd question, the ultimate goal in
this case being to fly for a Part 91 operator. Is
there any "fast track" career path to say a GV
or Falcon 900 or Citation X ?
I know for a fact, Flight Safety requires a min
number of 1000 hrs before any initial class on
any of those latter aircraft. So that might take
some time.

Don't confuse getting a rating from a zero to hero pilot farm with actually having the experience or credential to be qualified for employment as a pilot, or in some cases to even be a safe pilot.
As an experienced pilot told me years (and years) ago: "...If you want to fly like a thousand hour pilot....you have to fly a thousand hours..."
PS. Welcome to the forums!

The job you talk about is the cream of the crop, and very hard to obtain. Usually takes thousands of hours and knowing the right people. Even then, it's hard to get.
There are no easy routes. In fact, 135 is harder to break into than 121 simply becuase of the hard and fast mins. Second, most of the dream jobs that you speak of go to guys and gals that have already toiled in 135 jobs for a while.
