Default Part 121 ATP Written

Studying the Gleim right now and had a couple questions:

1)Do we only need to study the 121 IFR flights? I really don't want to have to memorize the 135 ones as well.

2)Which operating/planning questions are on the 121? DC-9, 737, 727? All eligible? Only one?

3)I took it 30 months ago and have been working at a 121 carrier since; so I really need to take it again?

Thank you in advance. I need a little help from those that are on top of their regs and instruction better than I am.

If you're taking the 121, study EVERYTHING except the 135 regs.

All of those may be asked on either 121 or 135 version.

No. If you're employed before the results expire they are still good. You can wait to upgrade or go take it on your own. If you leave and go to another 121 carrier the very next day, those results are expired.

Thank you in advance. I need a little help from those that are on top of their regs and instruction better than I am.

Actually the wording in the regs states that you may take a 121 ATP checkride with an expired written. Period. There are no constraints on employment history.

It does not specify that you had to have been employed when the test was taken, or when it was valid. It also does not require continous employment to use an expired written.

Unless any 121 checkairmen know something different...
