How are schools keeping instructors?

Probably not too hard considering most regionals aren't hiring right now or are increasing their mins.
Most schools have significantly increased their pay and believe it or not, everbody out there isn't shooting for a regoinal job.

how much does a regular fbo / part 141 school pay then?
I know at my school the instructors get paid something like 11 bucks per hour of instructing.
(meaning they get paid for the time the school gets paid for with the student, any paperwork is not credited).

When I was instructing I was making $24 dollars per instruction hour and after 1 year it went up to $30 dollars per instruction hour. The school assigned students so you were ALWAYS busy and i was averaging around 120 hours per month in pay. I would have ended up a little over 30K if I finished out the entire year and I worked from 7am until 5pm and had two days off. You get burnt out fast but I was home everynight and had alot of potential for growth there.
Its obviously not 100 percent for me because I am no longer there but it is a very viable option in some cases. Flight instruction is very rewarding.
