Couple Rookie questions
-Student who has multi Commercial/insturment rating. If he/she want's to get Instrument prficiency Check, he/she can do this is a single engine? Or does he/she need to do this in multi?
-Helicopter commercial/insturment pilot wants to train single engint airplaine to get his/her instrument. Does the applicant must retake the written? Is it pretty much training all over again interms of requierments or does he/she get some sort of benefit on this training in terms of FAR/requierments?
Thanks!

-In 61.57, the IPC has to be done in the appropriate category, so the student can do it in a single
-For the instrument rating, they'll only have to meet the requirements for 61.65(d)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I'm interpreting the regs. My mind is on overload right now, CFI-initial check oral tomorrow morning.

IFR currency in any airplane counts for any other airplane (like ERAU said, it's based on category).
A helo IFR pilot who wants to earn airplane IFR privileges does not need to take the written. The training required is listed in the FAR's, and the checkride requirements are in the IR PTS in the rating conversion table.
