yeah, I'm not looking forward toward ari ben if they have some CFI that I cannot understand. I had to deal with an indian guy during A&P school for 2 months.... I didn't learn anything cuz I could hardly understand him. I do not want a repeat of that...

Default Ari-Ben

What's up guys?

Well, I toured Ari-Ben yesterday; met Mike Cohen and the infamous receptionist. I forgot her name. At any rate, to me...Mike's cool. He's a no nonsense guy; speaks his mind and really couldn't give damn who likes it or not. IMHO he shoots straight from the hip. I'm ok with that.

He could tell that I had done the research on schools by the way I answered his questions and how the conversation flowed. We talked about schools from Ari-Ben to RAA. The reason I settled on Ari-Ben was because of the cost, services provided for that cost and location. I'm happy with my choice.

I plan to live in "The Pines"....upstairs. Whoever is my roomate, know this, I get the Master Bedroom...period.

I have my own car...an '05 Altima 2.5S. I figure I'll be on the 6-8 month plan. Start date: 11/10/08. I'm doing the PPL & Pro Pilot Program. After that, I'll instruct from 4-6 months. At least that's the plan. The entire cost is very reasonable compared to other schools in Florida.

Looking forward to start. Good luck to Emmanuel, whose from the Azores and Nick from India. They just finished the CPL under FAA & JAA.

Btw, FAA informed me that I will be receiving my medical certificate next week.

Not knocking AllsATP, but ain't that the truth.

I'm 60 miles north of where I currently live w/parents, West Palm Beach. My ex-wife (soon to be wife again) & 4yr old son live in Ft. Pierce which is where Ari-Ben is. The price for everything including housing, checkrides, etc will run just over $50K. That's PPL -CFI/MEI. The housing is in Vero Beach.

Before you go to Ari Ben, make sure that the maintenance issue really is being resolved. I went there for some time building and ended up leaving half way through because of it. I flew on 4 different airplanes and not one had a properly working fuel gauge. Did a 4.2 hour xc and gauge read full. Looked in the tank and it was almost empty. Complained to chief pilot and response was "Technically gauges only have to read full or empty." My response was that I wasn't about to find out if it could read empty and I walked out. They did give me my money back though. Finding a large block time was tough too because of the amount of flying that they were doing.

Yes, they are.

surfer1212:

Will definitely do an intensive and extensive pre-flight as required and for good measure. Thanks for the heads up.
