Yeah, I'd like to know what school it is too.
I worked at one where the chief mechanic pulled me aside before a flight and told me "You are not taking this airplane." It was on the line and allegedly airworthy. He repeated "You are not taking this airplane." Then he told me that he was being pressured to pencil whip it back in to service.

Would you want to take an examiner up in a plane like that, with you basically telling the examiner you think it's a safe, airworthy plane? Sounds like an easy way to fail a check ride.

Well.....well.....well.....someone on this board should be thanked, or just conicedence, but the FAA just arrived on campus, shut down the entire school, every airplane, said they are going to fly every airplane that is "current up" and no plane will be flown until all mainetence work is done after they get done flying them and writing up what's wrong with the airplane.....shocking, but well needed.....

Seems like the FAA really is there to help you this particular time

That's good to hear. A shutdown (temporary or not) sucks for the students, but not nearly so much as flying in unsafe equipment.
