Things may have changed, I moved away from ERAU-PRC back in July, but at the time new-hires were starting at $15.40/hr I believe. They fly G1000 172's and PA-44's, and I heard rumors from some buddies back there that the school may be swapping the Seminoles for Twin Stars next summer.

You stay busy there, and while the starting pay isn't much, they have rock-star benefits IMO. The health insurance is top-notch, especially if you have a family. You won't find a better retirement plan anywhere, I guarantee it. And you get 18 credits/year tuition-free. I know more than a few instructors who either finished up the last half of their bachelor's or got their masters degree while instructing with the only cost being that of books.

In all reality UND is a good school to instruct at minus the location and the $15/hour pay. Thanks for all the info I will have to do some research into soem of the other schools and throw some apps around!
Stay at UND. The pay is top notch, you get benefits, steady supply of students and work. You may not be able to log any multi-sim time but it sure beats not working AT ALL when the weather is crap. The breakneck pace of hiring at the regionals over the last year is about to come to a screeching halt so if you're already at a good place I'd sit tight there.

I disagree with someof the above posts. Leave UND ASAP!!!

1st you need to get out of the GFK bubble. UNDer's are not hated in the airlines but they are sterotyped and they totally derserve it.

2nd UND's pay is ok. There is worse and there is MUCH better. I have seen A LOT and I mean A LOT of places out there that pay way better than UND. Just look for them. Check out climbto350.com Theres plenty on there but the site costs money.

3rd As for multi instrucing at UND your right about only getting about 20 hours per student and that can take some time. It is Part 141 but Part 61 you will get more time in a actual airplane teaching than at UND.

4th GFK just plain @#$%s year round. Get out expericne life in a new city instrucing in new places in different aircraft and making more money than you will your first 3 years at a regional.

It really depends on the individual as far as hours billed at ERAU, i've seen everything from less than 20 a month to 140 hours billed a month. Of that your break down will be in the range of 20% oral tme, 40% sim time 40% flying. Mileage will vary based on a wide range of variables.
