illinipilot, yes they pay for pretty much everything for your CFII, and MEI at the place i am at. You will be instructing private students while training for your new ratings. However, they make you sign a year contract if you want to get those ratings for free. You can break the contract for 5gs which is cost of training. Average around 100-120 hours a month (could be less if you want to go slow) and multi students in about 4 to 5 months.

At ATP you should not have a problem with a military commitment, alot of military folks come here to get their ATP certificate. the last thing that management wants is to get a bad rep in the services. also, several folks around ATP are ex-mil themselves. just my .02$

Default CFI flight privileges

Do the CFI's employed by ATP have any type of flight privileges on any of the regionals that they have "hiring agreements" with? Just curious.

atp
No.

Also, you do not need ATPS to get to the regionals anymore, American Eagle, terrible example, is hiring 600/100. You could easily get on at Trans States or Mesa with bare minimum commercial multi instrument, and half a brain, without ever stepping into a big flying school.

icedawg8...i called atp and they said they said that they won't bay for ii and mei....which location are you at...because an instructor from dallas said the same thing you did.

I'm really interested in doing this...is it easy to get hired at atp with just a Cfi???
