Really depends on how much TT you have. I know Flying Scotchman has a duchess that is in good shape for like 160 an hr but the insurance requirement is STEEP if your not an instructor. If you are an instructor its only like 350 TT and maybe 30 in a multi with a checkout, otherwise its 500TT with a checkout. St Cloud has a good priced duchess, 30 multi hours and a checkout only. Other than those two places cant tell ya. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. Is Thunderbird a good place in your opinion? Yes...that is my trail camera photo...the elusive one that always seems to shake me!

Don't pay for multi time, there is a huge demand for instructors. You can get it for free. Buy your mei and start calling flight schools till somebody gives you a job.

Get it and go to Thunderbird to instruct, apparently their hurting for instructors but supposed to be one of the best schools around here. I dont have any personal experience with them but I a friend who went there and liked it. Might be worth checking out.

Default Thanks again

Hey Puckhead.......Thanks again for the info. I have my MEI, just haven't been active and am looking to get back in the game. I'd love to get on with Mesaba as it would keep me fairly local with most of my family. Thanks fir your reply!

As an ex-T'bird MEI instructor and current Mesaba employee, I can tell you that T'bird would hire you in a hurry. If you have your MEI I could see you building at least a couple dozen hours every month. I did my checkride and had a student later that day.

The Scochman's Duchess has had a prop overhaul going on for the past few months - it may be finished, but for at least the past few month T'bird had the ONLY multi engine aircraft for rent, and I was one of two CFI-Is/MEIs, so I got lots of time.
