ATP Written
hey there,
I have to take the ATP 121 Written here pretty fast in the next few weeks. I haven't dont much preparation and don't have much time to prepare. What do you all recommend?
I looked into ATP's Test Prep program that seems like a decent deal. Would I need to do a lot of preparation prior to the class? Any similar classes?
Thanks in advance for the info, and sorry if there are other posts like this!

At ATP you show up in the morning, spend the day cramming for the test (they narrow it down to what is most relavent) and take the test in the afternoon. At least that is what I hear.....Good Luck

That sucks. I started studying a month ago, stopped after a week and then just started again. It's almost like relearning everything since you have no 121 exposure. We dealt with 121 in one of my classes and it confused the crap out of us. All I can suggest is the Gleim software. You can run full tests or study all the questions.

That sums it up. Same for FE Written. No prep is needed. It's pretty quick and painless.

I had taken once years before, but my original one had expired

I did the ATP program a few weeks ago in Phoenix. The other guy taking ATP that day got 5 tedious questions. I got 12. Luck of the draw. Oh well. Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that the fee is pretty high. You can set up Gleim software much the same way as ATP's test prep and have the same result and save $$$. The ALL ATPS way is a sure fire bet, but if you're into saving money (what pilot isn't?), give Gleim a chance.

I did mine through All ATP w/ zero prep. Crammed for about 6-7 hours and scored 96%.
Shepphard air is good. I couldn't do it because I can't study at home w/ 3 kids. The All ATP office from which I did the cram session/test at had some pretty good gouge to eliminate the need for any math. I'm sure if you contacted them, they might email it to you if you grease the guy a few bucks.
PM me if you want further details.

I'm looking at doing this too, but it will be a good 12 months or more before I have 1500 hours. How long is the ATP written good for before it expires if you don't get the certification right away?
