Default Sheppard Air test prep limitations

Hi All,

I've read about the Sheppard Air test prep for the ATP written, and have seen many positive comments in this forum on it. My question is how do they account for the performance data questions requiring mathematical solutions? Those are a PITA and require a bit to work through. I assume you still have to know how to solve them?

At least when I took the test they weren't fundamentally different from the private pilot question ... the W&B for a 727 had a lot more stations, but the concept was the same.

That said, my technique for those time intestive questions was to just skip them at first. Do 95/100 questions that are quick. Come back to the hard ones, maybe eliminate an answer or two, then pick and move on.

Yes, you're expected to know the material and to be able to do the work.

Are you hoping to be given the answers so that you don't need to know how to calculate, and solve?

At the end of the day, the test is generated from a bank of pre-written questions and is multiple choice. When you sign up for an SA course, you get a 1-2 page guide that covers the technical questions; basically, you look for certain key variables/wording of the question itself to figure out which specific one it is and then associate it with the correct answer. Takes about 2 sec vs the 5-10 minutes if you do it the "right" way.

Order a physical copy of the test supplement off of Amazon to use for diagrams, etc. It'll make life a lot easier.

My question was worded clumsily. Of course you have to know how to do the math. Flydrive explained what I was asking for it in his post.
