Default Did my first cross country today

I finally did my first dual cross country flight with my instructor today. My routing was from KTPL - KAQO - KAUS. My CFI signed me off for solo cross country next weekend. Looking forward to it. It wasn't bad as I thought it was going to be. I had all my check points, and I saw them all on time, plus I had GPS and ATC to back me up. We stopped by KAQO, and they're working hard on the airport, new runway, and buildings. We also did a full stop landing at KAUS, to get some practice talking to clearance delivery, etc. We were cleared to land infront of a Gulfstream business jet. As soon as we landed tower said, "No delay on runway, take taxiway J". It was fun. We stopped by the signature flight support FBO. FUN.

Hey congratulations longbow, that's a big accomplishment. I'll do mine in a few more weeks. Good luck on your x-country solo.

awesome man, that brought memories... wasn't it so much easier and more relaxing flying on the cross country than going out to the practice field and doing maneuvers, right! good luck on the solo x

If you're goin for your commercial, you're going to do alot of them. I'm wrapping up the last of my XCs for my commercial. Always learn something, even from listening to other guys. Heard a guy being "yelled" at by NYC approach because he was going through the B at 10,000 feet through the arrival/departure routes for the airports. Felt kinda bad for the guy, he got it kinda rough.
