Default CFI-I and MEI at the same time?

Wanted to know what all of you think. I should have a fresh CFI rating in my pocket in the next week or so if the weather cooperates. Hopefully, I have a job where I'm doing the training right now but I want to get the CFI-I as soon as possible simply because it seems to make you more marketable. Eventually getting my MEI as well.

Now, my question is this. I'm going to need 14 hours of PIC in the multi to get the MEI. I figure that by the time I do the instrument portion and the multi portion it would be cheaper in the long run to do both at the same time. What do you think? Save some money and do the -II first or live a little more frugal for the time being and knock both out, saving money in the long run.
