ATP raises cost by $5,000
#21
I walked into the local FBO yesterday and discovered that they are charging $84/Hour for a Cessna 152 plus $35 for the instructor. I couldn't believe it. The flight school is associated with a local university program.
Their low estimate is that a commercial instrument licence will cost 55K. 70K plus of you add a CFI-I. Then add the cost of college on top of that. Tuition, housing and books are averaged to be around 25K per year.
I say save the money and join the military. You will thank yourself in the long run.

Unless you do ROTC, you have to pay for the college yourself anyways.
