Cross Country Tips

Just stick with what you were taught. Always remember the most important airport is the one you came from. If at any time things just don't seem right, feel free to return home and go again another day(Mainly this refers to weather).
Have fun with it, don't rush, and congrats!

Usually what I do is by their second or third cross country I'll take out the GPS cards and seal them in an envelope inside the airplane. That way I force them to rely on their dead reckoning and pilotage without the temptation of using that little direct button on the GPS. If they have to use the GPS cards I'll know about it.
As for any advise, keep your eyes outside. Make sure your instructor gives you all the proper endorsements as well.

I sign my name on the seal of the envelope. I haven't had a problem, that I am aware of, yet. All of them that end up using the cards are quick to admit to it.
