Arrow Ask SkyWarrior Flight School...

Just a quick introduction - I am an employee at SkyWarrior Flight Training in Pensacola Florida. There have been some false rumors and bad information going around, so we thought we would create a thread to answer questions and address any concerns that you may have. Ask about training, RTP, financial, maintenance, anything that you would like!

Feel free to to PM or post questions here.

From my observation the biggest rumors I’ve heard that need clarification is:

RTP programs are full all the way into the summer 2018 with no need to even contact you guys if you want to start sooner.

Training is not being completed in a timely manner with back ups in training due to CFI and DPE availability.

Lack of response to emails with questions.

Those are just things that I have observed on this forum and heard elsewhere. I think giving a clear answer to those concerns will clear up a lot. I also think if you add more information on your fleet of airplanes used in the RTP program on your website it would help people researching which school to attend.

Hope this helps you and potential RTP students.

Hello Rotor2prop!

Thank you for your response!

The first concern was space availability in our Rotor Transition Program. Our RTP program is not full! The hiring process and start dates are all determined by the airline and the cantidate. We accept the students as they are sent to us by the airlines. We have room, so by all means keep applying!

We did experience a bit of a back up a few months ago, but that was NOT a result of poor CFI and DPE availability. This is a new program at SkyWarrior as of this year, and in the beginning we estimated that pilots would get around 20-30 hours of flying per week. It turns out that you guys are super motivated, and some pilots got up to 70 hours a week - which is great! Since we have a large fleet of Cessna 172's and a lesser amount multi engine aircraft, there was a bit of a pile up when it came time to begin multi training. Most flight schools with a large student base encounter the same issue. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, we have alleviated the pile up issue. Furthermore, we are in the process of expanding our multi engine fleet.

In regards to the communication issue, Greg, Laima, Tori, and everyone else up at the office make themselves available as often as they can - sometimes even after hours. We appreciate you bringing it up and are we are truly sorry if you or anyone else has had the same problem. If there is ever an issue with getting a hold of someone, please call the flight school or the corporate number and we will be sure to be in contact as soon as possible. The online inquiries are checked daily, and nearly everyone is available in the office Monday through Friday 9-5 to answer questions! You guys and gals are very important to us and we will do everything in our power to ensure your success.

Thank you for the suggestion to add info to our website! With all the upcoming changes, we are in the process of updating the information.

Thank you again for your contribution to the discussion!

US Aviation would love to help Sky Warrior out with the RPT program

We have self-examining on a number of courses, VA approval, and a much larger fleet. We could take 100+ students next year no problem.
