Default Let the job work for you

I recommend taking on a job that doesn’t require much brain space. This way you can focus your concentrations on studying aviation. I once worked at a coffee shop that simply required pressing buttons, pulling handles, and yelling “Low fat, yolo, half caf, soy latte for Simon!”. The job didn’t compensate me very well (outside of free coffee) but it paid the bills.

Then I upgraded to a social service job doing in-home/community respite with adults with disabilities. This job paid really well and was a lot of fun. The bonus came when the resident wanted to take a three hour nap and I got to study my books, and got paid to do so.

Money will come when you go to college and apply for loans (both federal and alternative). So don’t sweat the job thing. Just find work that won’t give you a headache and that you might actually enjoy.
LET THE JOB WORK FOR YOU, RATHER THAN YOU WORKING FOR THE JOB.

Started flying in 1972. Woked construction at the Houston ship channel making $4.00 a hour. I couldn't believe someone could make that much money digging a ditch. Of course a cessna 150 rented for $18.00 bucks an hour wet. A C-172 was $20.00 an hour and a C-182 was a wopping $24.00.

Still paid for my private, commercial, instrument and multi from high school thru college.

My how times have changed...........

I got my ratings and 4-year degree at a university flight school in 3 years. Then I worked 1 year full time as a lineman at local FBO while CFI on the side.
