Default Flexjet at Millington, TN

To the Flexjet crews that I met at Millington Regional Airport on Sunday, 28 Sep - thanks for the introduction. The planes (L40s) looked great and I appreciate the time.

Sorry I was not the one to meet you, as I am on the Lear 60 Fleet.

Stop by anytime, we are proud of the company, and what we do. 99% of us would be happy to show you around.

Just curious, are they based in Millington or just come into the airport from time to time. I just don't recall seeing too much in Millington but things may have changed at the airport from my last time there.

Thanks Learguy - I would like to take you up on that some time. Btw - they said that FX might be expanding their domiciles (e.g IAD). Rumor of course - but good to hear if it comes true.

Abxflyr - they said they were based in Dallas. I don't know what was going on in Millington that day but there were quite a few bizjets in there. I actually thought it must have been something big to have two L40s in there at the same time. Big meeting maybe?

We currently have 5 "bases", domiciles are more like it. TEB, FLL, DFW, DEN, and ONT. ONT is more or less closed, they have not hired into there in a while, but it still is listed in our FOM. I don't know if they would allow a transfer into there.
Chances are you will fly out of your domicile to meet your aircraft about 80% of the time. The aircraft are based wherever the last crew ended their tour. So, it was possible there was some sort of a crew swap where you met them in Millington.
More bases are the number one crew request. Lots of talk on the issue, but talk has been going on for years. It is a very good company, but never, ever, plan on "the talk". If it isn't there when you get interviewed, it may never be there. So, the domicile situation is what it is, and may be that for years to come.

Thanks niteav8tor - that would certainly rate as a good reason
Lots of fans in that area. transient told me that they were going to get busy so we ran out into town real quick to eat at 'Old Timers' (excellent country food btw!) and then got out of there before it got to busy.

Learguy - agree completely. Don't bet on 'the word'. Unfortunate though for those that are interested. They mentioned the trouble they were having getting people where they needed to be with the current airline situation (exactly what that situation is I don't know) and that it might be the catalyst that is needed for serious consideration. I'm sure you have many former military, but the captain mentioned that he was retired Army. So if you are able to figure it out and run across this Capt or crew - please pass along my thanks.

Yeah Old Timers is great. Also Karen's country diner is good and Los Reyes mexican restaurant as well. To be such a crappy town they have decent food in Millington

I'm sure there is a Waffle House around there somewhere. "Hey Baby, do you want sweet tea or tea tea?"

Actually I've been in CA so long that I forgot where I was and got this very question without the "honey" part
Btw - it was REALLY GOOD sweet tea!
