Default Flexjet/CS

I have applied at NJ about a month ago and am waiting for the application to be sent. As the application process can take more than six months to the hire date (longer post TA), I am looking at other fractionals to both fill the gap and prepare my career in the case I am not hired at NJ.

CS looks like a good, reputable fractional and friends working for CS have good things to say. I don't know much about Flexjet. It sounds like they might have a deal coming in January to keep pace with NJ.

What information does anyone have about Flexjet? Advice on Flexjet or CS? Does anyone have more insight, in addition to a previous thread about increased basing or pay at either companies? Thanks for all the help!

Don't know much about Citation Shares, but can tell you Flexjet has been a great place to work for me thus far. Potential downsides for you: 1) limited pilot bases: Currently FLL, TEB, DFW, DEN. Rumor of expansion, but nothing certain. 2) Two year training contract (prorated) would limit possibility of using it as a place to "fill the gap". New pay scale to be announced later this month. These are good people; I am confident they will give us a fair deal.

Lets hope you're right, but I've heard that said many times before.

If all three offered me jobs (NJ, CS, FX), I would probably go with NJ. But I wouldn't have any problems at all going to FX or CS. I have friends at both, they seem to be very happy with their jobs. Haven't heard any negatives.

I fly for NJ, I highly recomend it, but I usually advice people to look at those other two as well.

I applied to NJ just prior to the TA. Soon afterward, they posted the application on the jobs page. I filled that out and resent all my documents with this application the first week in December. I have not heard anything back yet. I this normal given the TA, holidays,...I am anxious to hear anything. Are they still sending an application in the mail in addition to the one posted online?

CS management has said there will be no response to NJ's new contract. I seriously doubt there will be any new bases added anytime soon.

My question is, who will Flex Jet match?? NetJets' new contract, or Citation Shares' no response to the NJ new contract.

The word on the street is Flex is coming up with a competitive match to NJ later this month. That's just what I've heard though...time will soon tell.

I hope so. The fractionals should keep their salaries competitive with the majors, or at the very least with the nationals (Airtran, Frontier). I think NJ is somewhere in betwen the national and the major pay scale, but if you tag on all our of benefits, we get within striking distance of a major.

Good luck to FX
