Aircraft Assignment
I assume your first fleet assignment is not a bid process. You get what they give you. I know for a fact, because I've tried it, that I do not fit in the phenom and I do not have full control movement. If someone were assigned the phenom and they do not fit are they let go from the company? Can they be reassigned a fleet?

I know that NetJets will not place a pilot in the Phenom if said pilot is too large. They take height/reach/leg length into account when placing pilots. Therefore, they will not lose their job, but rather, be placed into an airframe that they fit into.

When you get to indoc, just talk to one of the flight ops VP's that visits. Some people just aren't going to fit in the Phenom, and they know that. One email from them and it's taken care of.
That being said, if you just don't want to fly it and are using size as an excuse, that might not go over very well. (not saying this is your situation, rather for those reading that think it's a walk in the park to get out of being assigned that plane)

To add to this. I think it would need to be in the job posting too. Much like crew weight for helicopter EMS jobs

Friend with prior part 135 experience will be starting soon. Understanding she could be offered Phenom/Challenger/Praetor, and understanding they all can fly any mix of destinations on any give day, what are the pros/cons between the Challenger and Preator is she got either option? If you actually had the choice, which of those two would you choose and why? I realize this is completely speculative in terms of choice but I appreciate people's personal opinions about why they liked that specific bird. What did you like about it?

Flexjet Praetor interiors are bespoke. It's an amazing business/corporate jet with just a few unfathomable design flaws that don't detract from how much of a joy it is to fly compared to any other jet I've ever operated:
1) Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion® fundamentally requires more clicks than say Honeywell Primus 2000 or Universal for the same function, with a keypad that is slow to accept inputs. The lawyers designed it so that changing one input parameter will nuke your takeoff numbers.
2) No dedicated drawer for catering.
3) Fueling requires a pilot programming a fuel panel via a primitive joystick that is a waste of time. Pilots should be able to call in a fuel load while not present at the airport.
4) Potable water is unserviceable from the outside. Instead of a simple handoff of a tank to line service, the process requires pouring water into a cute little funnel.
5) Recirc Fan is mindblowingly loud.
6) Tray tables often get stuck when stowing because of a loose screw on the left side.
Unfortunately, there is no perfect airplane.

For fuel, can you just call and say I want 300 gallons? On the Phenom the panel defaults to full, so it very easy to just order based on gallons.
