For example, let's say I leave active duty in December, and am available to start January. How far back in the year would I know I have a job offer?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
Your CJO will happen pretty quickly after the interview process. The class date on the other hand will be about 45 days out. All of that being said, the pool is already about 200 deep again after running through last year's pool and interviewing for the last 3-4 months. New Hires in the Jan 7th class were notified the week of Thanksgiving.

Again, depends on your location and expectations. If you live in Duluth or Cumming and are facing a possible 7hr drive or live in Newnan and can do it in 5ish there’s a big difference.

Today I drove home and was sipping whiskey and watching football before I would have boarded my FedEx jumpseat and about the same time if I had waited 4 hours for the next DL flight. All about perspective and expectations.

Movement out of the seat is good, but so is being placed in a seat that lots of new hires will be assigned and getting there first. The first FO assigned to the 767 in Indy will be at 65 percent at the conclusion of the training letter.

My guess is they will want the base fully staffed by September when ETOPS is scheduled to start. That would mean quite a few new hires to Indy in the first part of the year.

Trips in Indy are mostly nights and not sure how the ETOPS trips will look compared to how they are currently built in Memphis.

Indy trips are generally built with Monday and Friday deadheads. There are many local FOs and Captains so reserve tends to go senior.

Thanks for all the replies on the trip length!

Building off the commuting conversation, how is the AFW/DFW- MEM commute?

I don’t do that commute, but about a week ago I spoke with a guy that does it and he said it was rather easy. So many options with us as well as American.

Anyone have experience with BNA-MEM commuting? Looks like only 1 flight a day on FedEx but very drivable at 3 hrs.

Many do it. May be easier to drive with the less than 3 hour commute in the car. Once your done jump in the car and drive home as compared to waiting around for 3 hours for your JS.

A friend who just went through it got a call after the interview saying he passed the interview, however he didn't get an actual CJO email until after he got called and offered a class date, which didn't happen until about 2 months after the interview.
