From reading on here, I have the following impression:
757: lots of North America flying, night hub turns, fastest to gain seniority as people bid out for WB pay
767: growing fleet, OAK hub will do One Asia flying
777: Most senior, longer trips
MD-11: Been going away for years, keeps flying, lots of asia and international
A300:?

Thanks!

If your looking for deadheads, especially double deadheads, the 757 is gonna be your fastest ticket to that, MEM 757 bid pack has quite a bit of deadheads in it, Over the last couple months bids, people with a little over a year on property have been able to pretty reliably hold something with double deadheads. Other fleets are probably going to be at least double that. Just for comparison, I’ve been here for a little over 3 years and in the MD, and 76, there were only a few lines with DDH I could hold, probably a dozen in the Airbus, and none in the 777. Until you hit 70-80% seniority in seat, you most likely going to have a reserve line or a VTO that has reserve on it. Of course the more hiring into the fleet the better with this. If I walked in the door as a new hire today and had to pick a fleet, I’d pick 75 for quickest growth, and MD or Airbus for wide body with fastest growth.

It’s worth mentioning that the 767 & 777 fleets will see a lot of stagnation for the junior folks as those who are already on property are bidding into those seats. Longer reserve, longer time on a secondary line, and on the domestic side expect a much longer time to hold day flying if that’s what you’re looking for.

Much more steady progression for the MD/Airbus/757 fleets... faster route to holidays off etc.

There are still about 50 deliveries of the 767 to come on the next 3+ years. I don’t see stagnation in that fleet until all those deliveries are on property, assuming they don’t order more between now and then.

That’s a good point..l just saying on practice bid 3 there were 166 current pilots that are moving into M67F from other seats (including yours truly). Meanwhile the right seat of the -11 is only staffed to fifty percent... easier path to a line and day flying for a new hire.

I think the A300 was staffed to around 65%. So I think you’re right.

28 day bid... Up to 10 day for results... Now I know what it must feel like working for the post office.

The World on Time!

New guy here. I'm a regional LCA with just over 1000 TPIC. I'm hoping to get on at Fedex.

I was curious what kind of variety you guys see as far as trip length goes?
