Is this processed through global travel? I was told we have to take a test every 6 months; is that true?

Thanks

They're easy if you've worked for another airline. You haven't.

He may be alluding to the difficulty of Non-Rev/Space Available travel. Not too bad as a party of one maybe two, but add a kid or two and it's a nightmare now days. Yes, I've worked for other airlines and nervously watching the Standby list in hopes of making it on the flight is a pretty bad experience.

You wanna come Non-rev with me and my family? You can sit alone in seat 34B with my crying toddler on your lap

Apologies for coming off a bit sharpe. They aren't bad if you're trying to take an international carrier overseas with a spouse. With a family, domestically... forget about it. Agreed.

Don't listen to people who don't do it. MY 9 year old son and I just took a direct flight from Home to DCA for a father son weekend touring the mall and the smithonian. it was 81 bucks round trip. Decided on a Thursday left on a Friday came back on a Sunday. First Class going up he was in first on the way back I had to ride in the cockpit.

You must take an exam every 6 months and you will book through www.myidtravel.com Its very easy to book and check loads.

My family of four went to Paris over thanksgiving last year(made every flight) and we've made multiple trips to visit family in the Detroit area this year. It is a benefit that we have access to if some don't won't to use it because of the "aggravation" that's cool.

But don't let anyone tell you it can't be done.

Isn't that a no no if you have a ticket?

A "ticket" would mean positive space (i.e. a guaranteed seat). In that case, using the jumpseat would be bad. Zed, ID-90, whatever you want to call them are standby passes.

I understand that they are standby tickets, but they are also tickets that are paid for. I look at it as, would you feel comfortable telling the SCP that you were doing this? Could that put the ZED passes at risk like it puts jumpseat privileges at risk?

The airline is not holding a seat for your Zed fare. The fact that you paid to fly standby is irrelevant, you are still a standby and most likely the lowest priority standby at that.

I would add that when using a Zed fare, it's a little different with every airline...

Does the id90 site still use the happy, sad, frowny faces as a way to depict loads?
