Default FedEx First Year Info for New Hires...

There are reserve lines that cover all those options. From single commute doing all your monthly days in one stretch to multiple commutes. I'm a pretty new guy on the 76 and the most I've noticed on the bidpacks were 4 commute reserve stretches. I took a single stretch line my first month, but switched to a 2 commute line for my second month.
An even newer guy in my crash pad is an AB guy and he got a VTO line his first month bidding. It really just depends, but you should be able to get reserve lines allowing only 1-2 commutes per month if that's your preference. Of course all that is subject to change; about the only thing I can say confidently is if you're at the bottom of seniority for your equipment you'll get an AM reserve line.

Awesome info thanks!

How many reserve days per month? Does it differ per aircraft? Do you get called in to fly pretty often and can you "volunteer" to come in and fly if you want to minimize hotel/crashpad costs? Thanks again guys, the info has been very helpful!

1- 15 days in a 28 day bid period, 19 days in a 35 day bid period, and 23 days in a 42 day bid period (23/42 was added in the last contract...we have yet to see it).

2- No

3- cyclical depending on time of season and manning....yes, you can volunteer.

One of the older guys can probably answer it best but it’s a blank line at the time of award, then gets awarded later with a combination of line pairings and/or reserve days that were dropped during the conflict period. Guys who were awarded lines or reserve that had vacation, carry-in, carry-out, training, mil leave, etc that conflicted drop those conflicts, then they get put in a pool to re-award to guys who had the blank secondary lines. It’s basically in between a regular line and a reserve line.

Technically it is now called a secondary line. VTO - lines made up of trips dropped by other pilots using Vacation - Training - Other.

For new hire guys in Cologne, what kind of schedule can they expect?
Long time reserve? How many consecutive days off? Time o flying?

Thanks in advance

CGN bidpack looks a lot like the mem 75 bidback. Week on week off, 12 to 14 workdays for line holders, 15 work days for Reserve line. Reserve lines generally go 7 on 7 off, sometimes a long streak of 15. Some short 3 to 4 day trips require some lines to work every week 3 on 4 off. Seems like a lot of Carry over, relative to Mem 75/76, so the chance to work extra at straight pay is good. But only if you want.
