APU start is mandatory for all flights IAW crew comfort. My jet will be the same temp/comfort level as our execs in their comfy offices. Period. End of story.
Will your jet be properly cooled before arrival with a/c cart or APU running. Highly doubtful.
I've had flights with APU inop, no a/c cart connected, and refused to preflight the jet until it was hooked up due to heat. Call MX and GOC ... things happen pretty quick when that info is passed

Yeah right 98% (hubites, outstation ramps and agents) they all log on to PFC.com BULLONY

Except in KMEM MX will tell you 1 they dont havbe enough air carts. 2 the cant run the air carts that long.
Question how many time have you seen the big yellow ac hose incorrectly hooked up of hooked up but flat ( not running, no air no pressure)?

"So it is your theory that they only told us about the early pull and pfc is the only means of communication in the company." (said mr 7000+ posts)
NO ! they always tell the cresbus drivers first. Then smoke signals, followed by jungle drums. Advancing via two tin cans connected by a string. Mechanics then get 10 min early training. Next Boy Cap has lunch with his buds. Lastly, it comes to you, who like my wife is always right. Then tony c and the rest of the mob chime in.
ALL I'M TRYING TO SAY is: Piolts lives matter.

cw,
Whatever device you're using to create these posts either needs some warranty work on the spell check or maybe you should think about re-enabling it. The combination of that and what appears to be a broken stream of consciousness filter is definitely creating some challenges for you in the "makes a valid point" category.
Thank you for the "K" on the MEM. In these FedEx threads, I almost always get that confused with the bustling, but slightly less well known sort facility ZMEM in the Hainan Province.
It's good at least you know what you're trying to say.

Here's what happened to us last week.
Outstation headed to Memphis. We show on time and are asked by the ramp agent in the office if we were aware of the :55 push time (ten minutes early). I told her we were but that there were no guarantees that we would be finished with our pre-flight. I get a blank stare.
We did our pre-flight as we normally do and the ramp gets their work done 20 minutes early from normal push time. I realize at some point that the ramp agent is standing behind me looking over my shoulder waiting for me to sign the haz so he can leave. It's out of my normal sequence, but I grab the paperwork, sign it and he bolts out the door announcing something as he leaves. I realize shortly after that he has closed the door and pulled the stairs. I don't know about others, but I want myself or my F/O to do this task...with the stairs still at the a/c!
Long story short, we didn't meet the early push but were a few minutes early from normal. However, there were a couple of things that I missed on my pre-flight because of being pushed and working out of sequence. I ended up fuming to some degree about the whole process...and the inevitable, "...what else did I miss..."
I get it. These guys are motivated. Bonuses involved? I don't know. However, instead of showing up to work and trying to excel and get out on time, I find myself showing up and at least at some stations, trying to slow the works down. It's a whole different game.

If the company wants us to push 10 minutes early, they need to adjust the pairings.
If they don't adjust the pairings, perhaps it is time to submit a flood of asap reports.
The FAA reads the asap reports, and I would hope they would not be in favor of pilot pushing.
