Alliance Airport (AFW) rumor?

Heard an interesting rumor that AFW was going to expanded into a new base. Can anyone confirm or put into context?

That one seems to get recycled on a 3-5 years schedule. A little more frequently than the one about GSO that seems to surface once in a while. What's your source?

I heard they're going to turn IND into a domicile? What say you?

Personally, I always liked IND and enjoyed the professionalism displayed by nearly everyone at the hub. I knew I could count on 6 deicing trucks in winter weather. I always wondered why they didn't send an IND Manager to MEM to teach them how to do this "deicing thing"?

Several years later IND deicing wasn't as good and I assumed that MEM sent a Manager to IND to teach them how to do it (and stop making MEM look so bad?).

Well, Memphis is tapped out. You can't fit anymore into Memphis. One of the flight coordination folks in IND said they were expanding IND.

This rumor about AFW wouldn't surprise me if indeed we are growing.

None of the responses to the OP relate to the question. Anything to a AFW (crew) basing rumor?? My guess, just wishful thinking.

Well, this rumor started in 1996 when I was a newish hire. It may have surfaced again because last week I told my F/O that my life would be so much easier if they ever made AFW a crew base. So I'll take credit for the rumor.
