[QUOTE=MaydayMark;2138735]Payed? Maybe that's how the Memphis School System teaches spelling?
(Sorry ... I couldn't resist).
Paid is the standard past tense and participle of pay. Payed was historically used for the nautical senses of pay and in the phrasal verb pay out where what’s payed out is rope. The form still appears occasionally, but paid now prevails even in payed‘s traditional uses.
A "week" attempt at a rebuttal.

Poor quality products
I have the new vendor's pants, shark skin I think, and the new tie. Neither piece made it more than a couple months before looking worn. I had another crew member tell me I should spend some money on my uniform. He laughed when I told him this was the first time I wore my new pants and tie.
Who else is noticing such poor quality in the new uniform material?

You can still go to Linda Chow or Winston as a Memphis guy. They're just not reimbursable. Stupid. Hopefully that changes.

I agree that buying out of pocket yields us better quality, look, fit and finish (as I do- now even to include shirts), but it really is ridiculous, and something each of us needs to bring up to our fleet captains. Hopefully things will change, if enough voices are heard. We shouldn't have/need to go elsewhere due to such poor quality. Although judging from the ESC's most recent correspondence, uniforms are the least of our on-the-job worries...

I get 4 pages of complaining about the uniform on APC immediately after the uniform policy FCIF, but I'm REALLY glad to see you brought this much more important issue up, one that directly affects our health and longevity.
Between the Environmental Standards Comittee's email yesterday, and the FAA Cargo Focus Team comm from today, it's clear that there is a lot that needs to be improved, urgently. I had no idea that OSHA protections did NOT apply to us on the aircraft, something that should've been clear to me when plumbing on the 727 and using that lav, nasty to say the least - specially after coming from pax carrier aircraft. I never had understood how sanitary gel was considered adequate as a satisfactory means to clean our hands.
I had emailed captain BA, the ESC Chairman, a sincere thanks 6 months ago. The comm he put out yesterday makes me even more appreciative of the work him and his team are doing. What a comprehensive, eye-opening email he put out. I'm sure the corporation's legal team took clear notice.

But safety issues that'll kill you shortly after retirement, and reduce the amount of pension you collect, seem not that important (maybe that'll change when we negotiate away our A plan).
