I don't believe this a conspiracy. But, I know they wanted to get this out before the vote closes. No big deal..

I voted "no" on day 1. I just don't think its a good deal, and I haven't met anyone that does. I know many "yes" voters, but none of them said they were happy with the deal. Their rationale varied, and it's their vote, so it's good enough for me. Some of the reasons were "we aren't getting any better", "it will take to long", etc.

Oh well, I guess we'll know in about a week. Then we'll hear them ***** for the next 8 years. They'll also say they voted against it too...

Oh, by the way, I fly international also. I've heard more people say they are voting against the TA rather than for it. Don't think that means much though.. I still predict 53-47 pass..

How about I rephrase the question...

Has anyone heard what the FDX healthcare plans are going to cost our pre medicare retirees?
I was serious, appendix B section 27 has the options for the retiree plan. Essentially retirees have the same options as non retirees. Costs seem to be split about the same. Tell me what your plan is and I'll figure your costs for a fee. Sorry if my response was not taken in the same levity as all of the other post today about costs in other threads.

I’ve already received some questions about the new Signing Bonus numbers that were released yesterday. This was not only expected, but was briefed by the ALPA analysts who help calculate the bonus distribution. In short, at the time of the TA, it was impossible to know the exact disposition of every crewmember that will receive bonus money. There are pilots who have been on Passover Pay, who have been on and/or off LTD for some portion of the amendable period, who will return from military leave to a different seat than the one held when they left, and relative new-hires and retirees who will have prorated bonuses. All of this will affect how the final numbers turn out. That data, which has been confirmed with and by the company, takes weeks to sort through to ensure accuracy. Instead of postponing publication of the bonus numbers, a conservative estimate, essentially what is believed to be no less than the final numbers, is derived. The more refined numbers were expected to be higher than originally published, and that seems to be exactly how it turned out.

To cover what have already been the FAQ’s:

No, there wasn’t any more money added to the bonus at this time.
No, ALPA didn’t make a math error.
Yes, we knew this was coming.
Yes, the final numbers could be a little different (likely higher, but this depends on the final data verification process and other procedures and potential adjustments required by ALPA Policy), but will not likely change very much.

I guess you missed the little at the end of my post. I thought that what you kids put on the end of your messages to indicate that you were joshin'. I guess not... Where's my serious face emoji? :-|

But, since you mentioned it... what size audience was your post prepared for? The two people who read this blog, or the hundreds (maybe 1,000 plus, counting lurkers). Does your perceived importance of "attention to detail" have a limit to the amount of listeners? Is it a sliding scale? Powerpoint slides, zero typos or 'rounding' allowed. Audience of 500 on a message board, two typos and one math error. Message just for a buddy, you can text like a teenage girl in science class... OMG, I just h8 this ta. hbu?

Just a little levity, Tony... Don't take it personal!

I had an over/under bet with my buddy about how many posts it would take for this comment to be made.

I thought for sure it would be under 5. You need to be quicker next time Viper! I would have split the profits with you...

If they offered this info up after the vote closed, we would be whining it wasn't "timely communications."

Kudos to them for keeping us in the loop.

That's some funny stuff right there...

Even more funny is how many folks got their undies in a wad...

We'll send me half for you winning the bet.

So we are supposed to have unwavering trust in the NC and Union? We've been misled too many times in the past 20yrs for me to follow that. And the last contract signing bonus wasn't recalculated. So yep, I questioned the timing of this new information from a NC and MEC that are selling us this contract instead of sending it to us without endorsement and letting us make up our own minds. The Union should have sent this contract to us with the pros and cons instead of telling us what a great deal it is. So forgive me if I don't trust them completely.

No, I have no copy, I haven't read the TA, I'm basing my vote solely on who can sway me here on APC. I mean, the posters here are so friendly and have only the best things to say about each other. Honest unbiased opinions well thought out with no touch of emotion. All comments based on fact as to be irrefutable. But Policywonk seems to be the voice of reason, so whatever he says, is what I'm going to do. I mean after all, we can fly draft on vacation, can't we?

I'm just here for the entertainment. And I just want to give a shout out to all my peeps! Hey Yo!
