Man, I feel like I'm banging my head against a Rock.

We are completely mis-communicating here. Our TA says 175 degrees, I AGREE WITH YOU. But, if an airline markets it as 180 degrees in its documentation, and it is ANGLED, do you not think that would stand in arbitration, against us?

I repeat: Clear, unambiguous language on a fully horizontal seat should not have been that hard to add, do you agree?

I guess we should have defined the axis pivot point. If at the feet then it is a lie flat. If the pivot point is at the waist, then lie flat angle. I do know that on the roadshow video I just watched, SL specifically said the lie flat angle does not meet the definition. Since He was at the table and I was not....I have to take his word on it.

If this is what the TA "hinges on" (YES PUN INTENDED) we are really worried about the wrong stuff. Even though I'll most likely vote yes....My real concern is with retirement and healthcare.

I would love to take his word on it. And I know he would not be lying to us. My concern lies (pun intended ) with the company lawyers and our arbitration record against them. Why was FULLY HORIZONTAL not added to the language?

Agreed (except for the yes part).

I searched the Internet for an airline that has angle lie-flat seats that markets them as 180 degree lie flat. I think real facts matter when presenting an argument. I found many airlines with angle lie-flat seats. I found none that claimed they were 180 degree lie flat. That is primarily because the angle lie-flat have proved very unpopular money losers. So the airlines are dumping them, and in many cases first class , and instead creating a single business class product that gives everyone direct aisle access and a true, 180 degree lie flat seat. Then, they get big bold advertising points about how their seats are now fully lie flat.
I simply suggest that you don't rely on what Seatguru says. Look it up yourself. It's not their TA. It's ours.

Makes sense. I'm also going to carry a level. If I'm not perfectly horizontal, I'll ask the stews to move some fat people around until I am.

I completely agree, SeatGuru is irrelevant. But, airlines did market those angles seats as 180 degrees. They are horrible seats, and pax carriers have lost business because of that marketing. Bad choice on my part, to base it completely on SeatGuru.

But, in light of how pax carriers have marketed the angled seats, and the confusion this has caused those ****ed-off passengers, do you agree or disagree that clear language on a FULLY HORIZONTAL lie flat bed would not have been hard to introduce into the TA's definitions section?

You should give up. It's clear that there are no "lie-flat angle" seats on any air carrier now or in the future. And, none of the language in this TA could be considered ambiguous. If we have to go to arbitration...We'll just show the arbiter our roadshow video.

Yep, giving up. The question I asked, with yes/no as possible answers, cannot be answered apparently.

It is obvious, and this goes for me too, that the more decided we are on a particular path we have chosen, the harder it is to consider any aspect that contradicts that choice. We become personally invested in our decision, and do not want to question it, nor allow others to point at why our choice can be questionable.

Well, if you end up flying head down and blood rushes to your head, then you ought to tell the guys upfront that the probably need to add a couple of knots to Vapp to get the arrow back in the AOA box on final.
