FedEx Hiring
#2602
A domicile is one of the pilot bases (MEM, IND, LAX, ANC, HKG, CGN). When someone says "hub", they're probably referring to a sort facility. A sort facility typically allows a large volume of shipments to be brought inbound from outlying stations, sorted by destination (or region) and put on aircraft bound for those destination. Very similar to the hub and spoke system used by passenger airlines. There are several varieties of sort facilities: some examples... National SFs like MEM and IND (which also happen to be pilot domiciles), Regional SFs (Fort Worth, OAK, EWR, GSO) and international SFs (ANC, CDG, CGN, CAN).

Applicant seeking data
Hi,
I am seeking some info regarding Pilot Credentials app and some general things. I have completed and published my app, but I am still gathering references and letters of rec. I have done some reading about Personal Endorsements, but it seems like a bit of a mystery whether or not one will get a call without one. That said, here are my specific questions:
1) Is it bad to have my app published without all letters of rec and references gathered? I was told by some that publishing early is good because FedEx takes into consideration how long an app has been published when considering whom to invite. Conversely, I have read that if the 'computer' passes over my app, 'it' will not look at my app again for a good-deal of time. Any clarity someone can offer?
2) Do letters of rec from non FedEx employees matter? I can gather quite a few letters, but I only have a handful of contacts at FedEx...and even fewer who truly 'know' me personally.
3) I'm a transitioning military pilot (separating, not retiring). Intend to fly w/the reserves. I read in another post that FedEx may be veering away from part-time reservists. Any evidence-based truth to that statement?
Thanks for the help! Appreciate any advice (either related to my questions or not) that you can offer.

I'm a very recent new hire, nearly half of the class I was in is either currently guard/reserve or transitioning to it.

So I broke down and paid for an application review service. Great investment (hopefully). I discovered that I was killing myself with paper cuts. In any case, the "reviewer" said that I needed to include military schools/training courses, etc.. into the educational portion. Well I tried that, and if I'm "honest" with the stuff, it doesn't go. The system flags it because it's either not marked as a semester/quarter nor does it fit in the category of "type of education" from the drop down. Has anyone else tried successfully to do this?
