I think it is the nuance of "they" that is in play here.

According to posts here on APC regarding the situation, the objection to RST's product did not come from anyone in Flight Ops, rather from somewhere else in corporate in response to a legal infringement gripe from Cognitive Research.

Is there any evidence that the pilot hiring people have a problem with it?

You give up what?

My post was essentially supporting your position, so I'm not following your exasperation with the conversation.

I've done two prep services, ECIC and another no longer in business. Neither endorsed or gave canned prepped answers to questions.

In fact, ECIC went out of their way to point out that they would not be giving answers to particular questions, but how to say your answers to particular questions.

I think people should be very careful posting on here, especially if you're a new hire. It may have changed, but when I went thru, we had to sign non-disclosure agreements about the testing and interview scenarios.

If it is alright, I'd like to go back to the foreign domicile topic.

I am hopeful for an interview invite soon, and my wife and I are very interested in the Cologne base. Would anyone have any idea where most of the FedEx pilots are living in CGN? I've heard a lot of them live close by to each other and it has a pretty good close knit group feel. I would just like to know what area of CGN they are in.

I've been a long time lurker, sometime poster....mostly lurk. Hoping for my invite soon.

Those who've been invited recently, was it a phone call from Memphis or an email?

Thanks

For my buddy who recently got the invite:
It was by email
He had a Personal Endorsement
....and attended the FDX Job Fair.

From what I understand, in the Cologne base most people settle in either Cologne, Bonn (or more accurately the Bonn suburbs) or Düsseldorf. There are some outliers that may live in Aachen or somewhere else, but mainly those three cities. Families with children tend to be in the suburbs of Bonn (i.e. Bad Godesburg) since that's were they have two good international schools. The Köln crowd tends to be almost exclusively singles and empty nesters since there isn't really a good English school in the area. Düsseldorf has a mixture of both families with kids and empty nesters.

In Köln itself, I've heard that there is definitely a tight knit community there, and I'm sure the Bonners and Düsseldorfers have the same dynamic. If you were in the military, I've heard the base has a "squadron" feel to it, where people living there are always ready to help out others and readily take people under their wing and join together to assist in any way they can.

In Köln there always seems to be a get together of some sort where the people living in the community are getting together for dinners, movies, shopping, festivals, etc.

As far as where they live in the city, they seem to be spread out, with certain pockets in different neighborhoods.

If you (or anyone else) is interested in bidding the CGN base, there is a Facebook group where you can get information from people living in the base. Search "FedEx CGN Base Info."
