I think one of the reasons you have to have turbine PIC is that FedEx credits 300 hours in the FedEx flight tracking system when you're hired. This permits them to have a consistent high mins and consolidation requirement for new FedEx Captains. And, it allows FedEx to use some lower FAA requirements than they could otherwise. I don't think you will see FedEx make exceptions below 300 turbine PIC, and it's unlikely they will lower the stated applicant mins either.

Just curious if anyone with a PE has been called in since the program started? Anyone heard anything?

I can't speak for all new hires but when I was a new hire 12 yrs ago, I was a stud. 165lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal.

Now I look like every other guy in AOC at 2am. Fat, bald and pale.

Good luck with your application.

^She's right, you know. She was pretty hot when she started here.

Your boobs are still holding up, though... so you've got that going for you!

Too funny and so true!

I was at the sort a couple of months ago and ran into and old squadron mate.

I almost did not recognize him, he looked old, grey, and portly.

Then I realized that I look that way too!

I was in AOC a few weeks back at 200am. Thought I recognized someone from awhile ago too. Only thing was they were fat bald and grumpy looking. Then I realized I was looking in a mirror!
Guess I need to hit the gym, rogaine bottle and a tanning booth!

So maybe a silly question, but I'm genuinely curious. How serious is FedEx about hiring from within the company? Right now I'm a college student working at Ground as a package handler. It's a decent job and I plan on staying there until I get my CFI so probably 2-3 years, hopefully making it into management in that time. Has anyone heard of a situation like this where previous FedEx employees got preferred treatment?

I haven't even started my instrument rating yet, so I have a longggg time to go before I'm at that stage but it was just in the back of my mind.
