There are slots on the training letter for ANC MD11 and Indy 76 new hires. It looks like getting hired in October would increase your odds of getting picked. I would bet those guys know before their class starts. If that it what you want I would make sure everyone knew it.

So, no, don't assume anything.
That being said, if you are getting out of the military and you don't have a backup plan for when your dream job doesn't call you on your timeline, you're wrong.

Sim Instructor -vs- 767 Captain
I am currently eligible to upgrade to 767 Captain at Atlas but could also bypass upgrade and possibly be a sim instructor in the 747. I have an application with FedEx that I update every time I fly. As you all do, I really want to work at FedEx. 7,300 hours turbine, 4050 PIC turbine heavy (C141 and C17),747 type.
Does FedEx put more weight on being an instructor, or getting that 767 Captain type rating(which has a 3 year seat lock, incidentally)?

Does being current on a FedEx fleet type hold a lot of weight? I'm currently a 757 Captain, Checkairman and sim instructor. I have the opportunity to change fleets and get a new type on an aircraft FedEx doesn't fly. I'd also be a sim instructor once I get some time in the aircraft. Would you guys recommend staying on the 757 or does it really matter? FedEx is my dream job so I'd rather stay in my current role if FedEx looked favorably on it. In case anyone cares 11k TT, 8500ish TPIC and 3500 on the 757. Thanks
