FedEx Hiring
#1371
Maybe that's a reasonably consistent option at your company. When our own active pilots can't count on a ride for actual work internationally from some of the captains (small c) on the toolbox at FedEx, retirees would probably be best served to use another option.
If you can't travel first class AND buy hotels, beverages..... hookers and blow.... Well, that's just poor retirement planning.

I have heard about some 777 capts denying jumpseats. I can't imagine a good enough reason to do that to someone. Ever. One guy told me he had to buy an $1800 ticket home instead.

Two questions about current hiring details:
1. How do they offer the CJO, day of interview? Week after via phone?
2. What is the metric to sort senority? Last four social? Age?
Thanks in advance...I have one coming up and the wife was asking me these questions...trying to manage future expectations.

Metric for seniority is last four of Social.. the higher the number the more senior within your class.
Good luck!
FedEx need all the quality pilots they can get these days!!

From what I have heard from a few bros that have recently been hired.. CJO comes very soon after the conclusion of the interview process. Usually within 24 hours.

Forget the hookers and blow, but after being an airline crewmember for all these years, wanting 4 star hotels and flights at 2 star prices, I'm sure you'll find it. Air miles upgrade, and you can get the USAA for free on the flight. While we may have money after we all retire, no reason not to get your upgrades at a bargain price.

If a guy had a trip that ended at an international location, he'd have a ticket on the company home. So saying someone was out $1,800 because they were denied a j/s isn't true. While denying a j/s to a crewmember may not be the nicest thing, its still capt's permission internationally. If a crewmember thinks he should be ****ed because he is trying to save DH money and can't get a j/s isn't right either. FX Capts had to fight to get Capt's authority from the company so no one should be complaining if a Capt exercises that right for whatever reason.
