Not what I heard. Of course I could be wrong. Care to expand on this?

We risked the time value of money by saying "NO" and the clock is ticking. Go look at all the previous rejected TA's in the Airline Industry. All of the prior failed TA's (Delta, United, and AA). They all got back to work on the second TA with a focused approach on the items that needed adjustment, not entire re-writes! Added value to the second deal was in pay rates, and retro. They did not re-open every section TA'ed (We just did)...with no MEC direction.
TA1: $3,800,000,000.00 (Effective August 2023)

+

$20,570.00 (17) CPAP Machines @$1,210 (Effective 202x?)

TA2: $3,800,020,570.00 (#winning, #ArtOfTheDeal)☹

First, TA1 wasn't worth $3.8 billion, it wan an increase of $3.8 billion over our 2015 contract.

Second, as FxLax stated, all of the sections that were mentioned had items that were negotiated by the prior NC, including the medical freedom language that they said they negotiated befor the change in the negotiating committee.

It really would be a waste of time if we were handed a contract that barely passed.

honestly, wasting time arguing with these old geezers is literally the definition of insanity. Let them keep crying, nothings gonna change the fact that a bunch of guy guys held the line for the industry and we all have applauded you for it. Keep fighting the good fight. These dudes will hit 65 and will be soon forgotten.
Big talk from a pilot from a group that agreed to a contract extension in 2020 that didn't surpass Delta's 2019 rates until September of 2022, a full 44 months later. And what was the reason they gave for their yes vote? The teamsters may strike in 2023 and it increased the retirement calculations. Thanks for setting the bar so low.

Although I don’t think that happened. It’s kinda funny reading this imagining max’s mouth watering at the idea of taking something off the backs of the junior. If it did happen max, don’t be so butthurt that you couldn’t pull it off on our side.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the UPS extension, but consider that they improved their pension and got better pay rates just by kicking the can down the road a little. We barely exceeded their pay rates in TA1 by giving away SCOPE and a multitude of other things. I'm not sure anyone here at purple should be accusing anyone else of setting the bar low at this point.

Only thing I am frothing about is that Brownkisser is not at Fedex. Took him eight years in a big hiring enviroment to get hired. Had to wait until the bar was so low and the qualified pool dried up. Such a chump probably did not have any recommendations because no one would recommend him. Or else he got hired on as one of the super non union managers there. Pretty much a non union troll.

If you do not think the junior gave up something so the senior could get their bump or early out you are even dumber than I think you are.

So what you are saying is that you actually have no idea what, if anything, was given to get the buyout they were offered. Your just making claims with nothing to back it up other than insults if one doesn't take your word for it. Great convo..

So kicking the can down the road and improving retirement by a few thousand a year is ok? We didn't give away anything or accept rates that barely exceeded those disapointing UPS rates. We voted that **** down. So that group that took that underwhelming extension because the teamsters may strike in 3 years has no standing in pointing fingers at us. They should worry about themselves. The teamsters can strike again in about 4 years, so they better hurry and set that bar higher before they "have" to take another underwhelming extension.

We narrowly voted that POS down. My point is simply that we're in no position to be pointing our fingers at anyone...yet.

Ok, and my point is that Brownose shouldn't point fingers at any of us when they agreed overwhelmingly to approve two extensions totalling 5 years of pay rates based on a September 2021 rate that was below Delta's January 2019 rate. All for a smaller bump in retirement than we were offered because the teamsters were going to strike and they weren't important enough for negotiations, so they skip a whole cycle.
