All I know for sure is that every time you fly through MEM, there is a crew, or several, waiting in the shuttle for your post flight debrief, where Stan schools his crew on how and why he is 100% correct on everything that just transpired.

Odd comment. What sucks is hardly anyone agrees with you or the minority of FedEx pilots who don't post here. But again, if I don't share your opinion, I don't count. Well, I get a vote, you get a vote. And in the end, you won't end up any better than you are now.

Last leg of a 12 day…KIX-MEM Captain merica tie debriefed the 4 of us for 20min. After a routine nothing happening 12.5hr flight. I started the time so this accurate. Because I wanted to see if he would break his previous record of 24min. You literally can’t make this stuff up. The extremes people take at this place to suck the remaining ounces of enjoyment from this job is 🤯

Grabbing food and drinks? No problem, but if I want to eat at a different time. Then see ya at show.

*Caveat - It's also different for those who remain stateside in/out of their bases, wash, rinse, repeat which is no treat and actually sucks to be honest and I would seriously slam click that with a vengeance. I don't continuously hit F street or something like it and occasionally slam click for some peace and quiet no doubt. Those who maintain good layovers have opportunities and understand the pilot outings where we need to close the hanger doors earlier than we do, but that's pilots being pilots...

Just a matter of perspective from folks who've watched the world morph into distractions/fun whatever it may be as we engross ourselves in data overload some more than others to include myself on this forum. Doing whatever made you happy a decade or two or more has definitely changed and you're not wrong. Birdsmash is referencing a time that he fully knows has exited stage left as time passes. Dinner/drinks or not is a given and that has dissipated substantially, but going out to unique or special locations and enjoying some crew fun (not just those your "stuck" with) is a rarity at most outfits as they are stovepiped to quite demanding schedules and boring locations. Despite this, pilots of yesteryear could muster up some good times - why = it wasn't available in the palm of your hand. Let the jabs begin on that one... Debrief wise - left that long winded debauchery from my previous life, unless an "event occurred."

This is me, I always tend to eat late and usually try to work out first. Dinner and drinks at 1600 is not going to happen, and if the show is so early that you need to eat at 1600 I'm not drinking anyway. Wanna grab a couple cocktails at 2100? I'll be there.

Waaah, Really? You had one Captain out of hundreds who did this. There's a few oddballs at every company but you feel the need to complain.
