We should have one of the guys in the current hiring pool who naively still wants to be here try to go the purple runway route and see which route gets him a seat in class fastest lol

Purple runway is a 36 month minimum so he would probably be better off going that route compared to staying in the pool forever.

There are folks who got CJOs in August 2022 who are still in the pool...even if they've since joined UPS, UA, DL, AA, etc...that's twenty months right there...

I guess being in the Fedex "pool" costs the poolie nothing, but I can't imagine a single poolie is real at this point. Perhaps counted in the same numbers as "Germans who admit they supported Hitler" or "Fedex to PSA lateral transfers."

Did anyone ever find out how many people took that gem of a deal? I'm sure each and every one of them so bowled over the Training Dept at Blue Streak with their brilliance they were made LCAs on the spot.

I guess Fedex is still thinking that the USPS is going to come crawling back, vs. understanding that that the ex-wife and kids are happier with their new dad.

FedEx has wanted to shrink the airline as much as possible especially in the domestic network for sometime now. The international movement will be shrunk down as well when it comes to what is moved with purple tails. Where they can move volume on white tails they will; the idea to get the freight as close to its destination as possible on outsourced tails (belly space or block space) then trucked from the airport……I think many will be stunned what this Fall brings to the bid packs.

I find it hilarious that the Fedex management believe that their last mile delivery is really so good that they can afford to be at the whim of yet MORE contractors, except these are called American, Indigo or ASL.

Boofuuċhinhoo.
Incredible how many still think that TA1 would’ve miraculously solved any issue we may have with the fall schedule adjustments. It would’ve only made it exponentially worse for us from all fronts. Not implying Jackstraw feels this way, but I hear it alllll the time on the line.

Also, it’s worth repeating - if the company has a manning issue, then “leadership” that’s even remotely competent would’ve corrected this months ago. Almost 2 years into this clusterf00c and they’ve yet to take ANY action to solve their own self-induced problem. What is R.Dick Smith waiting for?
Why delay? Why is the BOD accepting mediocrity in regards to airline leadership and managing their labor costs?

They are taking action by making their problem our problem. The inaction is union-busting, but the outsourcing of our jobs is a new normal for FedEx. It will NEVER get better and this flying will never come back….Just wait until their new system form goes into effect in October. The managers are salivating and cannot wait to see us go absolutely bizerk when the new system form completely rips our nuts off this Fall. That’s the reason they are keeping it secret because they want it to be the pièce de résistance that absolutely devastates us and zaps away all our negotiating power. Dont be shocked in September when you get the bid packs. Losing the postal contract wasn’t about flying less of our own airplanes during the day, it was about flying less airplanes SYSTEM WIDE day AND night. Without the obligation to fly those planes for the USPS they can now park them permanently.

Who wins? Management, the shareholders, and the airlines that will be flying our freight because of our garbage scope clause; the same scope clause to which PM was willing to give more flexibility.

”But they would never do that”
